Hearthstone: Grobbulus (Heroic)

Hello again, Geek Generation here.

Heroic Grobbulus has 45 health and his hero power has become very strong. It costs 0 mana causing it to enter dumb AI mode. But the ability is so strong that it makes up for the AI’s dumbness. The hero power reads as “Deal 2 damage to all enemies. If any die, summon a slime.”. The good news is that minions on Grobbulus’s side of the board no longer produces slime, but the bad news is that slimes have also become the least of our worries. With this new power, Grobbulus now also deal 2 damage to the player every turn.

Heroic Grobbulus was a truly frustrating game to play. I lost many many games to Grobbulus. I don’t know how anyone can win against Grobbulus if they don’t use Stoneskin Gargoyle. It seems like the only minion with the chance to stay alive on the board.

2 x Circle of Healing
2 x Silence
2 x Holy Smite
2 x Inner Fire
2 x Power Word: Shield
2 x Divine Spirit
2 x Shadow Word: Pain
2 x Shadow Word: Death
2 x Holy Nova
2 x Holy Fire

2 x Norhtshire Cleric
1 x Lightwell
2 x Dark Cultist
2 x Earthen Ring Farseer
2 x Stoneskin Gargoyle
1 x Gurubashi Berserker

It came down to lots of luck for the win. After the early game, i was left with a 6/6 Stoneskin Gargoyle. 6 health is actually kind of low in a game against Grobbulus and i had to keep throwing heals at it after every attack to ensure that the Gargoyle has atleast 5 life. If it had 4 life, it would take 2 damage from the hero power and easily died to Slam (Deal 2 damage to a minion).

After triggering a Dark Cultist onto the Gargoyle, which made it pretty safe from harm, Grobbulus decided to throw down his last 2 cards which happened to be a Mutating Injection onto an Echoing Ooze. Double 5/6 with Taunt against my 6/9 Gargoyle and 1/1 Northshire Cleric.

Having no other choice, i attacked with Gargoyle, played Earthen Ring Farseer, drew into nothing. Played the Priest power on Northshire Cleric and i was jumping with joy when the card i drew turned out to be Shadow Word: Death.

Things turned better when i managed to play Divine Spirit onto the fresh Gurubashi Berserker followed by drawing into Inner Fire next turn. But i was down to toggling between 4 and 6 health and the only way i could win was to pray very hard that Grobbulus doesn’t draw Heroic Strike (Give your hero +4 attack this turn).

I guess Curse of Naxxramas in heroic mode is mostly about luck, lol.

Geek Generation out.
