Hearthstone: Thaddius (Heroic)

Hello everybody, Geek Generation here to wrap up on the Construct Quarter with the report on my attempt on the last boss, Thaddius.

At first glance, heroic Thaddius didn’t seem very much different from normal Thaddius. Heroic Thaddius has 45 health, same hero power, and doesn’t begin with any minions. That is until i passed the first turn. Thaddius summons Feugen and Stalagg for free. The good news is that Thaddius didn’t begin with his henchmen in play; ergo they have summoning sickness. Which gives you 1 more mana to set up to deal with the henchmen.

I went with Paladin at first, The basic idea was to play Humility on one of the henchmen, kill it, then Silence the other before killing that one too so that it doesn’t summon an 11/11 Thaddius. It took quite awhile for me to accidentally mouse over one of the henchmen to realize that Thaddius’s Feugen and Stalagg were vanilla minions. The do not have Deathrattle abilities!

Back to drawing board, all Ironbeak Owls out of the deck. But there was something about Humility that made the deck feel clunky. I have to cast it on turn 2, which usually mean i have wasted mana. And i had to wait for the swap to kill one of the henchmen on turn 3. And Humility did nothing to stem the damage. It was still 11 damage.

I scrapped the whole Paladin idea and decided that reducing health to 1 was a better idea than reducing attack to 1. It meant that i could kill the minion on the same turn and failing to do so, would’ve reduce the damage to 1. The change was so much more effective.

2 x Hunter’s Mark
2 x Arcane Shot
1 x Flare
2 x Freezing Trap
2 x Misdirection
1 x Eaglehorn Bow
2 x Animal Companion
2 x Deadly Shot
2 x Unleash the Hounds

1 x Elven Archer
2 x Webspinner
1 x Mad Bomber
2 x Nerubian Egg
2 x Earthen Ring Farseer
1 x Mind Control Tech
2 x Multishot
1 x Explosive Shot
1 x Feugen
1 x Stalagg

For the last game with Thaddius, i played Misdirection on turn 2. Feugen attack and did get misdirected to Stalagg. But both didn’t die because Thaddius played Supercharge before attacking. But the it helped to reduce alot of damage on the next turn.

 FeugenStalagg

Against Thaddius, including Feugen and Stalagg is a must. If you even get to cast them, you’re more or less assured of an 11/11 Thaddius clone. After the initial onslaught, i drew Feugen to summon Thaddius, played Webspinner to summon Core Hound, and the game was done.

See ya next week for the finale of Curse of Naxxramas. Geek Generation out.
