Hearthstone: Jade Shaman

Hello everybody, Geek Generation here.

After not getting much success from Jade Rogue, i decided to go for Jade Shaman. I started off with a deck list i saw from Kolento’s youtube video.

1 x Spirit Claws
2 x Tunnel Trogg
1 x Bloodmage Thalnos
2 x Flametongue Totem
2 x Jade Claws
2 x Maelstrom Portal
2 x Totem Golem
2 x Feral Spirit
2 x Hex
2 x Lightning Storm
2 x Jade Lightning
2 x Jade Spirit
2 x Jinyu Waterspeaker
2 x Azure Drake
1 x Aya Blackpaw
2 x Thing from Below
1 x Jade Chieftain

In his video, he mentioned that Brann Bronzebeard is not in the list because it does poorly against aggro and isn’t much needed against control. I don’t exactly buy the argument against control decks, but there doesn’t seem much room for Brann. Maybe if i removed 1 Feral Spirit. After all, Feral Spirits are usually not a turn 3 play.

Class Win Loss
Druid 1 1
Hunter 0 0
Mage 1 2
Paladin 0 0
Priest 1 0
Rogue 2 3
Shaman 3 0
Warlock 4 1
Warrior 2 0
Total 14 7

I managed to push from rank 15 to rank 11 with the list. But whenever i get matched against Miracle Rogue, it’s always a loss. It was quite a horrible experience. Anyway, it got me thinking: maybe i should play Devolve. It seems pretty good against Questing Adventurers and Edwin Vancleef.

devolve

1 x Spirit Claws
2 x Tunnel Trogg
1 x Bloodmage Thalnos
2 x Devolve
2 x Flametongue Totem
2 x Jade Claws
2 x Maelstrom Portal
2 x Totem Golem
1 x Feral Spirit
1 x Hex
2 x Lightning Storm
2 x Jade Lightning
2 x Jade Spirit
2 x Jinyu Waterspeaker
2 x Azure Drake
1 x Aya Blackpaw
2 x Thing from Below
1 x Jade Chieftain

I removed 1 Feral Spirit and 1 Hex for 2 Devolves. Feral Spirits are my go to for card replacements. I removed one Hex because i figured that Devolve works pretty similar to Hex.

I quickly found out that Devolve on a high value target that’s high in mana cost doesn’t work very well. It leaves behind a huge body which still has to be dealt with. But it does work rather well against White Eyes, which i saw a couple times during the run with this modified list.

Class Win Loss
Druid 0 2
Hunter 1 1
Mage 1 1
Paladin 1 0
Priest 4 1
Rogue 4 1
Shaman 3 1
Warlock 0 3
Warrior 1 2
Total 15 12

As can be seen, the win rate against Rogues went up. But the win rate against Renolock went down. I think this is mostly due to the lost of the second Hex. Devolve doesn’t do well against a minion light board. Renolocks usually have 8/8 demons, Abbysal Enforcer, Mountain Giants, all of which are pretty resilient against Devolve.

Perhaps i should’ve run 2 Hex and 1 Devolve instead. Anyway, managed to just edge into rank 10 with bonus stars on my last game. So much for now, Geek Generation out.
